TAS Payroll error
Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
We use TAS payroll here. Yesterday, one of the finance ladies opened an email attachment which was a virus (!) so after half a day spent getting rid of it, she tries to log back into payroll and it says shes already logged in to the system. I've rebooted the server and it still does the same. She's rebooted her machine, same. Another user can log in fine, so its her credentials.
I wouldn't know where to look for her account in this software to force her out.
Has anyone had any experience with TAS payroll and anything like this?

We had a similar experience with Sage payroll last year when a machine crashed. After long call to Sage turned out to be a lock file that needed to be deleted on workstation and then it was fine.
It may be same sort of thing do you have support for the software???
If so would be worth giving them a ring even if you don't worth a call sometimes they will tell you even if you don't have support contract

It must have been a sort of timelock, as I went down to her machine to make the call, she tried to log in again before I called so I could see the exact error message and it let her in!
Another job well done

Moral of the story then is not rush to fix problems and leave them for a couple of days.
sounds good to me lol

With TASBooks you could login as the supervisor and logout any other user (including he supervisor as the only user who could login multiple times).
Just in case you get the problem again.

to be honest I haven't used tasbooks for years (before they were owned by sage!), if I recall correctly, you just change the address in the customer record, then go back to the invoice and edit it which updates the address field for you

TAS Books still logged in after computer crash
hi Nadeem, What option is there in TAS Books when it is the Supervisor that is still logged in after computer crash. I am able to log in as both supervisor (and notified that I am still logged in) and also as another user. I can create invoices but I am unable to print/post them. The system just freezes up. I feel it may be because somewhere when the computer crashed it still thinks that Supervisor is printing/posting invoices. Therefore that function is already in use - so it thinks.

Its been years since I've used it, but there should be a screen on which you can choose to logout any user at at all incl. the supervisor, this usually clears any problems.
