Have uninstalled and re-installed the latest version of SIMS on my workstation, but when I try to upload our newsletter on the homepage, on pressing the yellow 'browse' icon to find the document i want to use, I get the message "The document server is not running".... but it is!
Well, that is to say, my colleagues can perform the same tasks on their machines without issue, so it is local to me.
If I do a tools > setups > document server manager > test connection, it says the server is not working - but i can see the server details in there, which are all correct.
Any ideas?

Hi, I have similar issues post 'revised' May release, but with all the workstations including the server. No-one yet has been able to supply me with a solution, hopefully someone will see this thread and provide us with one...

3rd June 2008, 03:24 PM #3 hi,
try adding the name of your sims server to the proxy bypass list.
This will now allow you to access the DMS

3rd June 2008, 03:43 PM #4 We have had a problem like this in one school.
Multiple entries in the "Tools - Setups - Document Management Server" area do not show up as seprate lines, try deleting the one you already have.
If you then still have another.... that may be your problem.
If you then have none, close the window but DO NOT save your changes.
As always, please ensure you have a VALID BACKUP before trying this on live data.

Having re-read the original post, it seems likely that the above will not fix it.
Not enough tea in this office y'see!

Hi, thanks but that solution doesn't work for me, beside the revised May update was meant to fix that one...

I had the same problem and this solution did fix it. Well nobody has reported anything since last Friday when I added it.

Hi, well I can state catagorically it doesn't work at all here, as I said the re-release of the May update is meant to eradicate the need to do that...

I'm not permitted to delete any document servers, so I'm not going to try.
Does anyone know if Capita are actually aware of this, and are trying to fix it?

I've just ticked "bypass proxy server for local addresses" on the 'CONNECTIONS > LAN SETTINGS' and it now works... if I untick it, it stops working. Needless to say, I've left it ticked.
