    sims over two sites

Hello all. i want to know is it posible to link two geographic locations with sims.net?

The situation is our school and another have federated prior to a merge and eventual creation of new academy on one site and we would like to be able to bring our mis systems together, we are happy to meet the licence costs etc so this is not a way to bypass those obligations just a query to see if it can be done and how.

The two schools are connected to the same County wide WAN although can't see each other as yet, we appreciate that this is the first hurdle but then i am hoping it should be a question of setting up sims server on one site and having the second site map drives through to it?

any help or advice greatly appreciated.

The physical link is quite easy to achieve.

What is more critical is reporting to DCSF. If these schools have one DSCF number then they can operate as one database. If not creating the necessary returns will require separate databases. Partnership Exchange would allow you to create and maintain a single database view over two schools.
