Is it possible to pull off any logs in relation to SIMS?

We have an end user who has flagged to us that when a report needs printing off, SIMS crashes and someone else has to perform this task.

We want to be able (if possible) to prove this through logs stored as we believe that there is a pattern forming which relates to time driven event of printing reports.

Can anyone here point me in the right direction?

I'm not aware of any logs like that I'm afraid! The only thing you get is the error code in the crash dialog.

I'm not sure I can help answer the actual question here but I'm sure someone here with good SQL knowledge will be able to. However if there's an issue with running specific reports it may be worthwhile looking into the "Scheduled Reports" feature in SIMS. You could send these reports to run overnight that way.

You can look it up in the help files, but essentially you create a scheduled task on the SIMS server which will run any reports selected for scheduling. After that, any users who need to schedule reports do so in SIMS itself. The scheduled reports should then run during the Scheduled task window and turn up in a widget on that users homepage the next day.

    No logs.
I'm sure you know how to troubleshoot basic issues, just bear in mind there are a few known issues around ind. report printing and generally always have been issues with reports office and printing.

Unless you want to give more details on the exact issue, you'll have to get Capita or their support to look and escalate with your suspicions.

Run SQL profiler or whatever it's called while the process is done and you might see more clues as to where it's happening.
