    Cheap MIS?

    Hi all

one of deputy headteacher at my current place has found a new job at a special needs school. 50 kids max. They use excel spreadsheet for all MIS related work and he wanted a software so it can reduce time for all work. Items he mentioned he wanted the MIS to do is as below

    Attendance, Progress Tracking and Behavior

Does anyone know any cheap software that can do that? money is big issue apparently so needs something very cheap. he know what you pay you get.

    any ideas

    thanks in advance

If there is no need for timetables or exams, perhaps have a look at @scholarpack they do target primary schools but may have all the needs from above adequate to the school.

Schoolbase might also be worth a look, they are a smaller organisation but do not know their pricing.

Sorry to do this mods, but worth having a look at the suppliers who have replied so far to the MIS Survey, each response (Advanced Learning, ScholarPack, Schoolbase, Schoolpod, Plus4Schools) have indicated what sectors they target or are available for.

SIMS .net is peanuts for this sort to thing. Just have to be careful as the costs ramp up quickly (with all the bolt-ons and consultancy). Check with the LA tho, they might already provide something and it just hasn't been used.

It's worth checking this thread and maybe contacting the OP to see what direction they took -> New to MIS systems
