Hi guys, new here so be gentle with me
I would like to have a monitor in our school's main reception that displays college points. We use SIMS as our MIS and would be using an Apache web server running on a raspberry pi to power the display. I could run a report in sims to output the college points and then I assume it would be a case of displaying this via the pi?
Has anyone got any ideas on where I could start with this?

To automate the whole process, you'll want to look at CommandReporter, here are a few threads to get you going with that:
executing CommandReporter from scripts
Command Reporter and Filtering Reports
CLR /Params String
Unfortunately, that will only run under Windows so you won't be able to run it directly on the Pi. However, you could set up a scheduled task to run your reports via CLR on the SIMS server then save the resulting CSV/XML to a share the Pi can access.
Then it's a case of displaying that data - what does your Pi use to generate the display at the moment? i.e. a webpage, Xibo, slides...
