    Cover not on timeline

    Hi guys,

One of our cover supervisors isn't seeing her cover on the Homepage timeline, nor is she seeing it under Take Register.
When she searches for herself under Take Register, her cover classes appear and she can register them. It's just not appearing on her timeline at all.
I've checked her permissions and the timetabler has checked everything on her timetable. Everything is in place the same as other cover supervisors. She is the only one who can't see it.

Any help would be appreciated. Ta!

Is she actually teaching and not being covered?? If someone else is teaching her class, like a diary it will show what she is doing instead.

This changes in Nov when the timetable will show the class, who is covering and what they are doing instead.

    No.
She has no permanent timetable. She only covers. Those lessons she is covering for aren't appearing on her Homepage timeline.
We have other cover supervisors in the same situation and the lessons they are covering for are appearing fine (they appear as yellow blocks).

Check that she has the same staff code in Manage Staff (Focus | Person | Manage Classroom Staff) as in NOVA. This kind of problem is usually down to there being 2 records in SIMS .Net for the same member of staff and NOVA is linked to the one that the person doesn't use to log into SIMS hence why she can see the classes in Take Register but not on the Timeline.

She isn't in NOVA as she isn't a regular teacher. None of our cover supervisors are in NOVA as they don't have a regular timetable.

If you search staff records (all staff) does she come up twice? Whenever i've had this it's been down to duplication

i can tell you exactly why that's happening!

When setting up a new user in system manager you should be choosing the personnel record to create the user account from.
If the user account is set up as completely new in system manager it won't link to her personnel account and therefore can't see her registers.

Go into System Manager / Manage Users, change the drop down to "any" and then search for the user.
If you glance at the roles, you'll most likely just see "user" but no "employee".

If this is the case, click new and this time choose the personnel account when it shows, give permission and give her the new username and password.

The other way is if, as mentioned above, there are two personnel accounts in personnel and the user account was made from the "wrong one", as in the one not linked to the staff code. In this situation your best bet is to create the new user account on the "correct" employee record and tell them to use that.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi gang,

    Issue resolved!
And, it turned out to have nothing to do with me

The member of staff in question was a supply teacher last year. When she started full time employment, Personnel added her as a new employee instead altering her previous record. I added the user from this full employment record as expected. However, the person who arranges cover was adding the cover to her OLD record, hence why it wasn't showing up.

Adjustments to leaving/starting dates and everything has now been sorted.

    Thanks for your suggestions.
