    Dare i say SOLUS3

    Or, @dhicks used to have some scripts or @matt40k but i can't find the latest, try these for inspiration :

    FMS & Thin Clients - Crystal Reports not installed

    Interface DLL for FMS Posting

    but read the threads through as they are old, and had some issues.

    My current school doesn't use SIMS any more, but when it did we used this batch file for a silent SIMS and FMS install:

    Code:
     @echo off
    echo Installing SIMS...
    net use s: \\ks-sims\SIMS /PERSISTENT:no

    echo ...local package...
    \\ks-nas1\Software\dotNet\4.0\dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe /passive /norestart
    \\ks-nas1\Software\SIMS\install.exe
    copy "\\ks-nas1\Software\SIMS\connect.ini" "C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net"

    echo ...with FMS...
    S:\SIMS\Setups\FMSApplicationSetup.exe
    mkdir "C:\Program Files\SIMS\Finance"
    copy "\\ks-nas1\Software\FMS\FMSConnect.ini" "C:\Program Files\SIMS\Finance"
    copy "\\ks-nas1\Software\FMS\FMSConnect.ini" "c:\WINDOWS\system32"
    copy "\\ks-nas1\Software\FMS\FMSConnect.ini" "c:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net"
    echo Sims Directory=C:\Program Files\SIMS\FMSSQL>>C:\WINDOWS\sims.ini
    copy "\\ks-nas1\Software\FMS\PDOXUSRS.NET" "C:\"

    s:
    cd S:\Setups
    call simsperm.bat CAMELOT\KS-SEC-SIMS
    SubInAcl /FILE "C:\PDOXUSRS.NET" /GRANT=CAMELOT\KS-SEC-SIMS=F
    c:
    On our system, "\\ks-nas1\Software" is simply a folder containing all our software installers. I seem to remember needing to get the FMSConnect.ini and PDOXUSRS.NET files from a working copy of FMS. KS-SEC-SIMS is a security group that everyone who is allowed to use SIMS is made a member of, you might have different / multiple security groups to deal with - just duplicate the simsperm and SubInAcl line for each security group.

    Thanks for the help. The problem with Solus 3 will be setting it off in a task sequence.

    Thanks

    You can create a command line script to run FMSApplication Setup.exe with a /s parameter to silently install.

    You would then need to do something similar to ensure that the workstation has the correct FMSConnect.ini and SIMS.ini files.

    You would just have S3 agent install via MDT\SCCM with a command to query the db for the GUID so it keeps the channels, s3 would then install SIMS and FMS.

    Just been playing with and it wont work if i only use the FMSApplicationSetup.exe. I if manually run FMS inst it does work. Just need to figure out how to get that silently installing.

    Thanks

    We use this to do the lot:

    @echo off
    echo Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")> CheckVer.vbs
    echo Wscript.Echo objFSO.GetFileVersion(wscript.arguments(0))>> CheckVer.vbs
    cscript /nologo CheckVer.vbs "C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\FMSSQL\Finance.exe" | find "6.152.281.0" > nul && goto :cleanup
    psexec -accepteula -is \\%computername% psexec -isx cmd /c \\blahblah.local\driveshares\MSI\FMS\FMSApplicatio nSetup.exe {QuietMode} [SIMSDotNetDirectory]="C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net"
    copy /y \\blahblah.local\driveshares\MSI\FMS\FMSConnect.in i "C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\FMSSQL"
    \\blahblah.local\driveshares\MSI\FMS\idapi32cfg.ex e -i "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Borland Shared\Bde\idapi32.cfg" \\blahblah.local\driveshares\MSI\FMS\Settings.txt
    :cleanup
    del CheckVer.vbs

    Then I just change the version number to look for every time the FMS upgrade is run on the SIMS server. The psexec bit is only to display the setup onscreen so users know why startup is taking so long - risky but otherwise they just switch it off sometimes, especially when I've got a lot of things to push out this way.

    Just testing but i think this works

    simsinfrastructuresetup.exe -a {QuietMode} {FMSWorkstation}
    FMSApplicationSetup.exe /s {QuietMode}

    Well, Settings.txt contains this:

    DRIVERS\PARADOX\INIT\NET DIR = C:\Users\Public\Documents

    Such that this is a writable location for end-users. It's a fix for a problem that I forget now.
