    Fault Code 1344-4639-6800

    I need a bit of help on this fault code (1344-4639-6800). On supportNet there is no articles for the Knowledge base.

    Here are the details
    Code:
    Object reference not set to an instance of an object : System.NullReferenceException
    Code:
       at SIMS.Entities.EMail.AddressValid()
       at SIMS.Entities.StringAttribute.Valid()
       at SIMS.UserInterfaces.ControlAttributeEditor.validateCurrentAttribute(ValidationError validationError)
       at SIMS.UserInterfaces.ControlAttributeEditor.CopyControlAndValidate()
       at SIMS.UserInterfaces.TextBoxAttributeEditor.leaveHandler(Object sender, EventArgs args)
       at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnLeave(EventArgs e)
       at System.Windows.Forms.Control.NotifyLeave()
       at System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.UpdateFocusedControl()
    The issue relates to the email address field. Someone has inputted the student's school email before the home email and hadn't set the location to "other" so now once the student has been enrolled into SIMS, the student now has a second email address which is their parent's home email address. This location is set to "Home".

    So what we have is:
    Home Email address....
    Location: Home
    Main: *Blank*
    Primary: *Blank*
    Notes: *Blank*

    Student School email address...
    Location: *Blank*
    Main: Yes
    Primary: Yes
    Notes: Student's Email Address

    We double click on the Student email address and the location field is Red, so we change this to Other, we get the error.

    If we remove both email addresses and save the changes, we get error code 1104-4318-6100 (http://support.capitaes.co.uk/websup...KB=KB91378.xml) which states:

    Notes
    Focus | Student | Student Details or Focus | Pupil | Pupil Details

    When changes are made to any data field, the following error is displayed:

    Fault Code: 1104-4318-6100

    Object reference not set to an instance of an object. : System.NullReferenceException

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Additional Notes
    This fault can be caused by a Pupil/Student record containing a second email address which has no value selected for the Location field

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Advice
    Edit the email address by adding a location (Home/Work/Other)

    The user should now be able to amend any details, as required, without further errors.

    It is also advisable to check that the Notes within the email address do not exceed 60 characters.
    So it is sending me in circles. I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on this.

    Thanks

    Remove the notes and instead of deleting emails add false location / emails until the errors pass. Then go back in and try to delete.

    You have full access? I'm sure we had something similar, and it was a faff. Have you logged it with support yet?
