ok it seems ok now i ran the applicationsetup as advised and i can now log on it says version 7.93 is this right now for september? after all the messing about is there anyway i can check if all is ok with the upgrade or can i assume if i can log on its ok now?
If I've read it right i think you've restored it to a previous version before september. The september update should be SIMS .NET v7.96.
EDIT: Bah this is why i dont work this late.. typos LOL v7.97! is september. Lucky you spotted Mark
No! 7.96 is the August updateyou've gone back too far doctor!
ah that figures why the work stations didn't go through any upgrades at log on to sims. i think i may have to go back to drawing board am i right in thinking that i can miss august and just run solus download septembers update and that will be ok (*all whilst physically sat at the server and not at the workstation as done previously?)
Sorry to re-open this can of worms, but does anyone have a definitive answer for this problem as we have around five Sony Vaio laptops (running MS Vista Business) that are having the same problem.
I have followed the advice given in this topic, but have had no success.
I know the connect.ini is correct as it was taken directly from a working station in out office.
Any advice/answers/suggestions would be more than welcome and I am willing to give anything a go...
Regards
i'm still having reason 2 problems within vmware basically i set up sims.net sql etc in a vmware machine and then tried to run sims.net from with in it and i get the reason 2 error sims don't seem to want to contact me as per normal.
Firstly Hello All - this is my first post so please be gentle !Originally Posted by new-2-this
I'd thought I would let you know that some of our users had the same error today following a Westfields SQL 2005 upgrade on Friday. It was the connect.ini path in our case as others have mentioned.
We use 2 copies of the same connect.ini files (for the time being) in s:\sims and in s:\sims\sims (dont ask ... 8O !! ), and all the problem was is that we needed to copy the new ini into the second location which still held the old path.
I'd do a search in your sims folders for any connect.ini's just to make sure they are all the same (right) version, and everything is pointing to the right places.
Good Luck !!
hi guys
just had this, new HP laptop with vista business on, getting a mite frustrated with it, however i found my solution
it came bundled with the trial of norton AV and personal firewall, disable (or uninstall) this and all of a sudden SIMS works
