Our server is 95% full and I am anticipating there will be enough space to install SQL server 2005.
Does anyone know how much space it takes up?

hmmm...its quite meaty, whys your server so full..?
and how big is it? cause if its 95% full and its got 10 Petabytes of storage i shouldn't worry......:-p
2GB for database, 4GB for db backups during upgrade. Around 800 for the new server tools etc.
I'd want at least 8GB free. You will need space for both to run in parallel during migration.
Note also that the install dumps around 1.6Gb into your C: drive during install time, even if you specify another drive for the install.
Thanks guys, looks like I need a complete SIMS Re-install then.Originally Posted by Domino

Its a legacy server that was upgraded from NT so it only had a 4gb partition for the c:\ drive (oh those were the days!!).
I will post this on the capita forums.
