    SIMS Spring 2013 update

Ok, this is a bit of a noob question but as I've only just put a SIMS server live bear with me!

We're run SOLUS3 to deploy the clients which has gone reasonably well, and we're now at the stage where we have to deploy the Spring 2013 update. This has appeared in SOLUS (actually two update have appeared for Spring 2013, 1.3.92.1 and 1.3.103.1) but when I look at the Targets in the detail, it only shows the 1 target which is the SIMS server itself. Surely the clients would receive an update at the same time?

When I set the view to show All updates, the Spring 2013 appears but is marked as Withdrawn, so I'm not sure what state SOLUS3 is in now.

The spring release is crippling lots of servers up and down. That will be the main reason. There is a big thread about it on here.

But it seems that people are deploying it, but its not available on my SOLUS3 server? Does anyone else have the 7.150.121 update showing as available?

This looks like my SOLUS3 is in a dangerous state - its ready to update the database, but not the clients. If I'd let that update go through then all the clients would show and incompatible database message.

I have had no problems with spring 7.150.21 but I do have SOLUS3.5 server installed.

I actually have SOLUS 3.5 installed (I should have specified that!) - the update to 3.5 failed on 10% of our clients so I'm rapidly losing faith in solus, despite a good start!

Capita don't seem to have an answer as to why my 7.150.21 is withdrawn, which doesn't bode well.

Oh right fair enough, that's a tricky one then the up is avilable for me. Capita are a very fustrating company and do not test updates enough before rolling out to the world.

Yeah, I can't see why its withdrawn for me, but not you! But the database update is available but thats useless on its own!

I have got this right haven't I, that the database has to updated to .872, then .873 and the client to 7.150.21 all at the same time?

You should check with whoever releases your updates. There was a re-release of Spring with an update to Ampark stuff but it shouldn't have been a new version number.

Please note that there are no other changes planned for this new SIMS Spring AMPARK update (it will have the same SQL Database version) and if you have already taken the SIMS 2013 release there will be no need to upgrade to the AMPARK update release as you can import the new AMPARK files yourself into SIMS.
Maybe it was pulled to prevent those that haven't run it yet to wait until the patch to remedy the server slow down was available.

You should have to upgrade the server to whatever version is available and then push out an upgrade to all clients. The clients must be upgraded with the server otherwise, they'll just report an incompatible database error.

Well its SOLUS3 so I'm stuck with however that works. It checked for updates OK but doesn't come back with anything other than the database updates.

Well Capita weren't too sure why this happened either but reassigning it seems to have done the trick!
