When I run the august update through solus it gets to the DB upgrade section and returns "The database upgrade has not completed correctly on server: qmgssims1\SIMS for database:SIMS." doesn't really say much about why does it lol. Any ideas?

i know this sounds really stupid, but are you on the server with full admin rights.
And i mean physically there, it will not even work through Terminal Services and RDC.

I'm using VNC there are no users logged on and we haven't got BROMCOM? Would doing this via VNC have the same consequences as RDP or TS?
Wes
doing it via VNC I wouldn't have thought so. I used dameware and it had no issues.
**EDIT** sorry this is an utterly useless post as I haven't done the database bit yet
VNC will work fine - as you are doing the upgrade on your server physcially. Check the DBUpgrade exe (normally in SQL Server BINN folder). It must be v2.11 to do the august DB upgrade.
Normally this is applied by Solus first - but might not have been able to upgrade it.
This happens if the db is in use. I usually restart the sql service before patching. RDP is fine and won't affect anything. I would run the august updates on the sql server itself though.
