Don't get me started on that. Sorry @PhilNeal but IEP Writer is appallingly bad. It is basically a piece of software written in 2004, and then wedged into SIMS - or it seems that way. It could be SO much better, properly integrated as a module. Instead, it causes our staff so many issues! I'd be happy if that happened, to say the least.

Don't think there has been much demand for IEP weirdly, I seem to remember someone at Capita showing me some mock ups which looks really good, but they never really turned into anything more. I'd though the idea was you buy a company then merge it into your existing product quickly thus getting any customers that was using a rival system with it that are now forced to look else where or move to your main cash cow product. It'll be interesting to see how they deal with library software - could be quite interesting seeing the integration with SLG and the learning platform they've got now - would put them in a good position to move to a Azure (cloud) based system and go toe to toe with another MIS system - oh what's there name? Oh... Umm... @GREED, any ideas

Are you talking about that company that has been doing cloud MIS, VLE and Library for 10 years plus, proven with over 1 million students...

Really @PhilNeal you really wanna start this? ROFL.

I'm rather pleased with 1.14m students using Aspen alone. Knowing I know competitor numbers too, we are very comparable. Considering too we have never, ever had a customer move away from Aspen, I like our retention rate just as much!

How about 30m students in 148 countries being reached via Follett software platforms.

    Appreciate the excuse to boast

When you count Aspen, does that include all the old iterations e.g. X-2 etc.?

Since Aspen was built 10 years ago, it has always been the same product. It has always been Aspen. Those same customers from 10 years ago are still with us.

    Bahaha!

It might not seem that way because I am very passionate about Aspen and it's abilities, but I still have huge respect for SIMS, what it does and how well it does in the market.

Yer, yer, we hear you sniggering in the corner everytime the words "SOLUS3" is mentioned. I hope I get invited to the next LA who re-procures the LA MIS and puts you all in the same room at once.

I think you should complain because the banner ad that presumably google keeps serving at the top of the threads is always SIMS Agora. Funny
    The battle has already begun.

I had thought that Vik... but while I might be very vocal... Google won't listen! It actually serves as a reminder that I need to get our google listing up the charts!

That's easy, just create more problems with Aspen, and that will generate more threads here and automagically move you up the ranks. What your system needs is flaws.

I think you'll find that Agora keeps on coming up because we're paying for the slot!
