    FPS Advance

    Anyone using this finance package?

Trying to find a way to get it working as it needs full write access to System32 (!!)
Can't change permissions on that folder. Can't give admin access to individual users.
Can't think of a way around it :/

Shouldn't UAC help with that? Windows will redirect writes made to the System32 folder to the users Virtual Store (%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore).

False messaging, it appears. It's not actually trying to write to it, permissions on the programs programdata and programfiles folders solved it.

    Thats good news Synaesthesia.
Our partners, HCSS, have a guidance document that resolves the issue. The problem you had relates to both VISTA and Windows 7.

HCSS are aware that the issue may affect users of FPSadvance.Net (V5 or earlier) and users of FPSacademy.Net ( V7).

Schools with FPSadvance.Net (V6 and beyond) will not experience this issue. Users of the Web version will not experience the issue.

HCSS are working hard to migrate all Academy users from the desktop to web platform.
    Regards

It's worth noting this is the latest version we had this problem with. HCSS were good about sorting it out and admitted there's no reason it (or any software) should be trying to write to system32.
