Just wondering how many of you have done your own SOLUS 3 server installation? Is it very hard to do?
I've found the download on supportnet - any pointers \ things to look out for?
I'm thinking of doing this during October Half term.
Thanks,

Don't excrete breeze blocks when it tells you it's installing Spring 2011 update on your server.
Check and double check firewall settings and exclusions.

Avoid at all costs?
When it works, it works well. However most of the time it plays silly beggers!
When you go with SOLUS3, make sure you add ALL SIMS, FMS and Discover devices into the SOLUS3 environment. SOLUS2 and SOLUS3 do not play nicely together.
I generally say do the release with SOLUS2, then as soon as your finished with the chaos and everyone is happy, move over to SOLUS3.
Biggest problems I would say are audit, dns, firewall... in that order. DNS and firewall are straight forward. Audit is the pain. Basically you have a list of computers in SOLUS3 which is suppose to be 100% accurate to your actual physical network. Typical audit problems sound like this... "can you tell me where they are? No? Why? Oh you reinstalled some of them, did you removed them from SOLUS3? No, what about AD? No?? Right... {large sigh}, is it a laptop? Yes, are they switched on? No... {will to live fades}"
