Mac OS 10.7.X and accesing DFS on Win 2008 R2 Server - Unable to get the name space l

Been working on this for the past 2 to 3 weeks. Trying to migrate our old NFS shares using regular SMB links that we used to get to the MS Folder Shares. Now that we have moved to DFS - Trying to get our Macs to connect to these new DFS namespaces has been a challenge. We have even tested the IP address on the hub server to see if we could get to it. No luck. What are we missing in order to get Lion to go to the DFS shares now?
I have been researching all over the net on SMB and SMB2 and Tech Net etc.

As far as I am aware OS X Lion was able to connect to DFS shares. Before this was not the case. Maybe OS X Lion just isn't able to do it correctly. Unfortunately we do not use DFS shares here or have the need to to be honest. We also do not have a OS X Lion Server/client in school to test it with. Sorry.

Just be aware that although it should work, it may not actually be the case. Are there any people out there that have it successfully working. Try and find some examples of a working setup. Maybe Tony Rocco will have seen a working example of Lion connected to DFS shares as he is out in the field setting this sort of stuff up.
