Deleting a Mac User that won't delete ..
Right, basically the situation is this.
I have a MacBook Pro that went in for some repairs a while ago, and to save giving away any of the passwords, I set up an Admin account for Apple (ok they could probably get round things, they built the stuff in the first place but that's beside the point .. lol).
Anyway, the MacBook Pro has been working fine and I figured I'd tidy up by deleting the user that I'd set up. So, as you do in Snow Leopard, I went to System Preferences > Accounts > unlocked the account pane with my details, highlighted the Apple User and click the "-" button.
It started doing it's thing so I left it to it. Came back to it a while later to find it was still spinning and, in fact, it was the beach ball of doom whirling around to itself. The system preferences had crashed, I couldn't force quit it, or start anything else.
I left it a while longer, just in case, but eventually had to hard power off the machine.
So, I was wondering (given all the flippin' Mac forums are blocked on LancsNGFL .. GAH!) if anyone can give me a quick how to on deleting a user through Terminal or some other such method?
Thanks all :)
