Connect to server

Hi

Doesn anyone know why when i connect to a windows share on my iMac, it doesnt mount on the desktop? It connects fine but doesnt mount. On this client ADMitMAc is not used.

We use ADMitMac for the connection to AD on the classroom macs and on these, they connect for a few seconds then says cannot connect in the window. Again these dont mount the share on the desktop

We even have the path to the shared in the "login" area in workgroup manager and when a student logs in the mount appears in red on the desktop then disappears!

I hope this makes some sort of sense as im pulling my hair out!

Ive sorted the the reason why the shared doesn't appear on the mac desktop, and basically i never ticked the box in preferences that says Connected Servers"

I still need to sort why on the curriculum macs, the share appears in red.
