Mac keyboard volume control sounds . . .
We have a suite of apple macs that our students use. These operate authenticate/operate via active directory and open directory on our network.
It is a problem that we are having and this when a user logs and adjusts the volume level using the keyboard then it makes a blipping and popping sound (which is what is supposed to do). Now imagine 30 macs with 30 students doing this during a lesson and it can be quite frustrating for the teacher as they are quite loud. We know that the setting can be disabled on the administrator user or for individual users but there does not seem to be a way to apply it as a standard policy across all of the computers. This is what we have done so far...
-Our supplier company are apple authorised experts and have drilled down into core of the system and not found a way to solve the problem.
-We know that if you plug in headphones or jack connector then it disables the main speaker.
-Apple does not think that itís a big enough issue to warrant an investigation at this moment in time.
-If you disable this as a local admin then it only affects that user.
-I have suggested replacing the file with a blank audio file but this is not possible as it is embedded to far in the system.
Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated,
