Slow printing from Macs to Windows Server 2008 R2
We run our print server on a Server 2008 R2 box. We have our Macs (which comprise 90% of our environment, so this is a big issue for us) print over SMB to the print server. This is going quite slow for us. There is at least a 30 second delay before the job even appears on the Windows box, after which the job is printed within 1 or 2 seconds.
Anyone have an idea what could be causing this? There is no delay if the printer is added direct IP on the Mac. This delay also seems to be present while using LPD.

Out of curiosity, what's your "sysctl net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack" set as?
I know a lot of slow SMB mac issues can be due to it, "sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0"
Might be worth a try, but get your setting first to change back if it doesn't help obviously :P
