My Applications and Home folder really slow to appear
On our 10.6 Macs we have the Home folder set to the users AD account share (on a Windows server) and put this shortcut in the Dock, along with the My Applications link.
The user logs in OK, and the two icons above appear in the dock, but they are effectively inactive for a good long time after the user has logged in. Eventually the icons change and they are then usable.
Any ideas what causes this delay? These options are set using preferences from the Xserve, and seem to work fine - except for the long delay.

2nd November 2010, 07:26 PM #3 I have just recently intergrated all of our Macs with many troubles, this is a network issues/authentication lag. How long is the delay? It also depends on what traffic is been thrown over your network too.
