Has anybody managed to hook up Outlook 2011 to an exchange directory yet? I've been trying through most of today and had no joy.
running Office 2011 on Leopard 10.5.8 and trying to connect to Exchange 2003.
I have a feeling it's because we're not running exchange 2007 but i could be very very very wrong?

24th September 2010, 02:58 PM #2 Apparently it uses exchange web services, introduced in Exchange 2007. IMAP may work though.

24th September 2010, 03:47 PM #3 IMAP isn't working for me either.
I should probably add I haven't tried to do this before =/

24th September 2010, 06:47 PM #4 Maybe best trying 10.6 as it has full exchange support. I thought it was in 10.5 but not so sure now.

You're correct. Outlook 2011 does require an Exchange 2007 or 2010 server for Exchange accounts. The same applies to Mail, iCal and Address Book in Snow Leopard.

26th September 2010, 01:32 AM #6 I can confirm that Outlook 2011 works with Server 2007. I now have ahold of Office 2011 and setup Outlook with our exchange server. Very simple process and may I add, I'm really liking Outlook for Mac. Much better look, feel & over all usability than Entourage.

Can you tell us how you have managed it? I've been trying all day and no progress. I've tried automatic setup and manual but I can get nowhere with it.

I just installed DavMail and setup outlook to use imap and it worked with my companies exchange server. The only issue is I have been getting null pointer exceptions. I would click on one of my subfolders and they would disappear.

I'm happy to 'read', but the documentation seems to only cover attaching Apple Mail to Exchange through DavMail. I don't see any instructions for attaching Outlook 2011 to Exchange through DavMail.

Not really much to tell/explain really .... when I open Outlook 2011 I select the "add account" option then select the "exchange account" option. The next window only has a few options (seen below). I guess the big thing is to know what your domain is and your account ID number/name. Once I select "add account" Outlook detects itself all the needed settings.

you need to make sure the autodiscover is setup correctly too otherwise the add account won't work.
in the advanced section of the add account i have the following
