Hi all,
This is probably similar to mac will not log on
but wondered if a more concise route to solving my problem exists.
We have Leopard clients and a Tiger server. CC3, so bootcamped with a windows cc3 build.
When booted to leopard, the workstation time is forward by an hour, and although it has an ip address, no record for the machine appears in dns (a record for that ip is present for the windows name of the machine)..until I go into Time and Date settings and the time adjusts itself, I renewed the ip) and then voila! a dns record appears. This fixes the issue until tomorrow, when the machines are re-booted.
We recently changed the dns scavenging period to 7 days, after troubleshooting our faulty router issues, but I'm seeing on posts here that when you have macs, you should set this to 1 day?
Is the time issue being caused by DNS, or vice versa?
Thanks
Nick
where are your macs set to get their time form/ Ice started using the ip of my windows dc and it seems happier and seems to stay in check
