    Re: Cisco to sue Apple

I can remember being told that we should be thankful that Bill Gates and Microsoft were very much in dominance rather than Steve Jobs, since Steve was a far worse megalomaniac ... and this was from a former early Apple employee (Apple number was between 0 and 100 ... )

Personally ... in the case of the iPhone I can see that negotiations were on going and that Apple had a deadline as there was a keynote ... I wonder if Cisco stalled the negotiations and can now say the Apple were the guilty party ...

All I know is that no matter what we think about Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or any other person in the IT industry ... we will always have to deal with those people that cause more problems than anyone else in ... flippin' lawyers!!!

You've seen Pirates of Silicon Valley, right? It takes a lot of licence in how it tells What Actually Happened, but its portrait of the main players is supposedly very accurate in spirit. Though I'm not too sure about Ballmer as a crazy 'jock', he's seemed very switched on and actually quite scary when I've spoke to him, and y'all know i'm not that easy to intimidate.

    Re: Cisco to sue Apple

I got the chance to chat with John Couch on Thursday (VP of Education for Apple and an early Apple employee ... around 50 IIRC) and his passion and drive for the use of Apple products in education is without question ... however, I still feel that Apple is not switched on to the politics or economics of working in the UK education market ... still ...

But more of that over the next week as I catch up with all my findings from the BETT Show.

I have to agree Tony. My experience with Apple directly has been dismal. Great people work at Apple UK, but they really don't seem energised for the education market- neither do they really sound like they can be bothered. They speak with forked tongue I think.

Interested to read your thoughts further on this though.
