    Priniting problem 10.6+ps110

Hi I can't get a printer working using mac osx 10.6 and a netgear ps110 print server. I have added it via the CUIP wep page as an lpd printer it keeps say communication error when I try and print. Any help would be good thank you.

What is the make / model of printer or MFD ?

Also have you tried adding it using the default browser , making sure you are selecting the correct driver before clicking the add or continue ?

I've got a netgear ps110 dual parallel port print server connected to a Canon i865. I have selected the canon driver of which there are two and still no joy. It seems to be the print server that upsetting the mix.

Just wondering with it being a dual port if you have to use a que name when printing to the ps110

Also the driver you installed - was this the latest one from canons website for 10.6 ?

    http://kbserver.netgear.com/pdf/ps10...s_refguide.pdf

page 80 - setting up for apple talk ??

Also page 90 with ref to the port names

Page 108 on how to use the included configuration tool to configure the print server and assign which port to use as default etc

Yes it does have a que name these are P1 and P2 which I put in. I just had a thought it could be that these are L1 and L2.

If you configure apple talk and try and do it that way maybe - just wondering if you set that up and use the default browser to try and add it that way ?

Also are there any firmware updates for the PS110 ??

if you enable and configure it on the print server for apple talk

once done the default browser is when you go to add the printer on OS X ie

system prefs --> print & fax --> first tab is the default browser

Not sure if its still enabled on snow leopard but wondering if there is a drop down menu where you can use apple talk that or in the network prefs use or enable apple talk possibly on the mac itself ?
