Had a look at the new macs in the media room and Paul showed me a little bit but he will most likely show me more another time.
I was just curious, you know how before in the previous version or versions of mac where the docking bar would curve or be rounded when you moved it around it turned around in a circle, what ever happened to that and why did they get rid of it ?
Also is there anyway to get that back because I thought it was a neat feature

Still does that, you need to turn on magnification in the Dock menu under the Apple menu

Yep- told him that at work :-)
In fact, I showed him. But he seemed to remember Macs having a more "wheel like" spin to the dock experience. I came to Mac OS at Jaguar, so they may have done this before that release. Anyone else know if this is the case?

The only thing thats really changed with the dock since the first release of Os X is that you can now move it to either the left or right side of the screen, without the aid of third party software. Maybe his monitor was giving that extra wheel look.

I saw the "Extra wheel look" as you call it when I was in a mac shop in australia a few years ago ie 2 or 3 years ago and they were using TFT screens / panels and I just figured it was an earlier version of mac os that they were using but I didnt bother to ask or check when I was there and I thought maybe some people on here would have a better idea.

There have been a fair number of third party plug-ins to do "extra" things on the dock ... most have been a bit pants and people are happy to just have it as it is.
Have a look on the Apple site > MacOSX > downloads and search for dock.

You could always get a good iMac G3 off eBay for next to nothing.
