As a network admin (or a technician), can we order stuff at a discount for personal use from the Apple education store like students and teachers can?
Just wondering because it says you either have to be a teacher or a supervisor of children at an education establishment - strictly speaking I guess Im not
Surely the worst Apple can do is make me pay the difference right?

Re: Apple Education Store
Yes, you can order from Apple with no problems. Randomly, they do call people to check that they're working at the educational establishment.
The official line is:
"a student with a valid student card or a teacher, lecturer, tutor or other supervisor of students at a UK education establishment"
Well, what's to say that you don't supervise students in assisting them with IT?
I had my order sent to the school just to ram the point home...!!!

"supervisor of students "
We all do that or should be due to every child matters and duty of care..
supervisor and teach are two different things supervise is to take an anctive part in education of children which we are doing when we help and tell off students...

Apple seem pretty free and easy on this - they don't want to be ripped off but they don't want to upset customers either (If only Microsoft could copy this from Apple). I just walked in to the Brent Cross store with my ID card to prove I really did work at the college, and they simply ask if you teach or supervise students. I managed to say "yes" and walked out with a MacBook at edu staff discount price, no hassle.
You've told students to stop messing around in a corridor before, at the very least, surely? Isn't that supervision?
