Mainly because T-Mobile have the G1, but their not-hilariously-expensive data plans are retarded, whereas O2 said "yeah, course you can do that" to everything I couldn't do on T-Mobile.
So, what essential (and ideally free to begin - I'm aware the app store is rather addictive) apps are you running?

The best free app has to be Shazam.
If you travel a lot on the tube system in London for a very small amount 79p or something use TubeDeluxe which is really good.

sorry to hijack, I'm on the brink of buying a t-mobile g1: what can't you do with them?
edit: and how does it compare to the new g2? http://community.zdnet.co.uk/blog/0,...331827b,00.htm

Can you not migrate the contract to an iPhone contract? I'm sure that that is an option. IIRC it used to be. They were going on about it on their website when the new one was being released as far as i can remember.

23rd April 2009, 02:13 PM #10 I'm looking at an iPhone, but on PAYG. Contracts are so expensive now!
£390 for the phone on PAYG and a single £10 top-up gives 12 months free unlimited data. Not a bad deal I think. The only downside is no VVM on PAYG but I have all my VMs converted to text and email anyway.

2) Accessing Internet video is against their TOS on the G1 plan I wanted.
3) Get a good data plan. I have a 1GB cap for data - if I want a decent data plan I have to spend more/month than I want to pay.
4) Get a non "I'm bored and just want you to get off the phone" attitude from their elbonian customer support drones.
02 didn't have any of the above problems, hence T-Mobile lost a customer and 02 gained one (unless they do something stupid).
re the iPhone - I've asked them to deliver it on Saturday - if it turns up mid-week I'll spend all my time playing with it.

27th April 2009, 04:34 PM #12 Spent the weekend playing with the iPhone and (bearing in mind it's my first real smartphone - previously a W810i, which is smart-ish) I like it a lot.
Just need to get Tomboy syncing with it now.
