HandBrake - Excellent for converting video files
Connect Across Platforms with Remote Desktop Connection | Mactopia - Remote Desktop Connection
http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/ - run bootcamp install inside of mac

What type of apps do you want? Do they need to be free?

Just any handy apps that you use on your macs. They don't have to be free if they are worth the money

ohhh that fusion looks impressive, looking at making the switch fully and that looks just the job for those tasks that just have to be done in windows!

Anyone know if games run Ok in it?

Wasnt too many games it supported that I have managed to get to work so I just use bootcamp for games and vmware fusion for apps / web browsing / scripting and tasks that dont require much umph.

Another app I have and is great for un installation of apps is app trap ---> AppTrap

Other then that I have disco --> Disco - Mac Disc Burning

Toast titanium, handbrake, iLife, google earth, file zilla and a bunch more.

I dont have the ones that were mentioned above with regards to

Dropbox - backup / cloud storage
Zumodrive - cloud storage with iphone client
    Cog - music player
    iTerm
    Darwine
    Visual Hub

Would be nice if someone could post back with links to the above ones , thanks
