Basically I'm just wondering if anyone has seen/knows that it's possible to boot with Windows boot CDs (such things as Ghost and Partition Magic/Partition Commander) on the new Bootcamp Imacs ?
Had the guys from the Apple Computer Centre (from the conference last month) in school showing the staff what we could do if we had both XP and OS X worlds.
From a technician's view I'm obviously thinking about ease of recovery if/when XP goes wrong.
My boss keeps asking me if *insert software here* will work in XP on the macs, I don't think he grasps that it's just Apple hardware and not pixies working magic inside the box. Or is it pixies working magic...
I have been running the dual boot for about a week now and whilst it installs very smoothly I do have a number of issues, The wireless is pants - can't get a decent signal unless I am very near the WAP(works great when runnings OSX) - Can't download off the internet via IE6, havn't tried another browser yet. Occasional blue screen when running ULEAD(to see how it compared to my P4 with Video. Will try a rebulid next week, any problems from anyone else?
I havent used it yet (dont have an intel mac yet just my lil mac mini PPC) but i think most of the issues will be down to the drivers being used so time will probably be the healer on this one as better drivers are developed for the platform
I have used it and seems pretty good for me. I don't use IE anyway.
I have found that ghost cannot backup when running on MacBook Pro. Gives an error, can't remember what the error was now though, but it was obviously to do with the Boot camp Partition.
I know someone who has triple-booted with Vista though.
Now that looks good and runs OK on a MacBook Pro.
