Hi Guys!
OK.... I have been tasked with installing one of the Governors new computer.
The only problem is, it is a Mac and he wants all his stuff from his old PC transferred to it!
I don't even know where to start as I literally have no experience with Macs!
Has anyone done this kind of thing before that can give me a few pointers?
Cheers,
Glenn.

15th February 2008, 02:01 PM #2 Copying documents should be fairly easy. Use a USB flash drive or external USB hard drive. A FAT formatted device can be plugged into the Mac and it will appear as an icon on the desktop.

I was more concerned with settings, email etc.
Do you think that this will be a manual reinput thing?
I found http://www.detto.com/mac-file-transfer.html on the net which does most of what I want to do. Just don't wanna get stuck for hours!

15th February 2008, 03:48 PM #4 I think there is only so much you can transfer you are talking about a different operating system after all. That utility looks good but ultimatly I would expect to do lots of settings by hand. If you have the two machines up and running next to each other it shouldn't be too bad a job....
Cheers

Hey,
I too switched to a Mac recently and in a way faced a similar problem with transferring files from my pc to the mac.

I was new to the platform and had no clue how to go go about this, but what really helped me was this cool little app I found on iTunes that guided me on how to move files from pc to mac, and really it helped me get better acquainted with the mac. I've never looked back since.
Hope it's useful.
