Re: MacBook no sound in XP

You bought more than one macbook. Do they all have the same problem?

I have just been reading about and see a few more people with a problem with sound. Can someone confirm that theirs works with either 1.4 or even 2.0.

Can i upload the 1.3 driver to this forum?

Cheers for the file, I will give it a try tomorrow, yeah we bought a suite of 30.

If it was just one then I could put it down to a hardware fault but its all of them that have the same sound problem.

    Cheers.

Gave the file a try just now instead, and it says wrong audio detected.

Am giving it up now, they can live without sound for the time being.

Re: MacBook no sound in XP

is it realtek audio on the new macbooks then?
I have looked at the tech specs but not much info on the chipsets used. Maybe an aieda32 (or something similar) report may shed more light...

Re: MacBook no sound in XP

I will see if I can get the leopard file for the driver to check the install. Apparently the beta ends december 31st anyway so it looks like upgrading but at the moment I am reluctant. Maybe because I have got to upgrade the ram as well on all 40 machines.

I thought it was SigmaTel, it could be Realtek.

@pooley checked the audio service and it has been started ok.

    Cheers again.

Apple have recently updated their macbook range to use the new Intel processors i think. Have you run a report against the hardware to find out what it is exactly?
