HELP ANYONE,
just tried installing leopard, it stuggled to find anything at first then when it did I got a sign (like a no smoking sign)
then it eventually began to install. when it did it faild half way through and now the origional install will not load and it will not detect the DL-DVD.
I have a macbook - white 1.8Ghz, currently mac osx 10.4 tiger
any ideas anyone???????"??????????

if you boot up from the leopard disc again but go to the utilities menu and run a disk check / scan on your hard drive and ensure all the permissions and everythign else is fixed.
Short of that you could try booting into single user mode and running an fsck.
If all is ok with that , then try again and see what happens.

I can't get to anything at all, it just sticks on the load up screen with the apple logo???

if you use your tiger disk just to make sure that it boots up and to scan the hard drive to ensure that the hard drive is ok ?
can you do that ?

yes did that, there is an exclamation mark on the drive, it will only allow me to do a full install (with erasing the hard drive) --- any ideas or will this have to be done?

anyone? If I format the mac, will the issue continue? is there a problem with the install disk?

If you format it completey and check the permissions and all the rest of it and then try and do a full install of leopard...
If it is still doing the same thing then your probably better off waiting for someone elses reply or calling apple.

You could try zeroing the drive.
