try ebay, or theres a company that do refurb student laptops, they do ok deals on macs.

Check out any Cash converters close by. I picked up a old CRT g3 imac for £20.

Cash Converters - last time I went in the one in our town they had one of our laptops that had been pinched a few months previously. We got it back.
