'Great' capital? I think not! Haha, I've not laughed as much all week!
Perhaps there are no posts because the broadband is so reliable....... :):):):)
Whilst I do enjoy my infrequent jaunts to the capital, I often find that after a few days a low level headache sets in and refuses to shift and an overwhelming urge to seek out a visible horizon forces me to leave as soon as I can. Oh yes, and you may as well drop your credit\debit cards on the pavement with your PIN numbers written on them. It will work out just as cheap as trying to pay for everything yourself.
Internet is reliable here but I'd guess we're not connected to LGFL so that doesn't really count.
Can download from Microsoft etc at > 10 Megabytes per second so nothing to complain about.
Food and drink is expensive in the tourist areas but I think it's as cheap as anywhere if you get off the tourist trail. "normal" shops are pretty much the same price all over the country - you've just got more of the very expensive shops here.
What London has that few other UK cities have is pretty good public transport - £3 to travel all day on the buses (starting whenever you want, not just off-peak) is not bad in my view :-)
The thing I like about London is that it's actually compact enough to get around on foot quite easily - a pair of decent running shoes will get you most places in central London quicker than the tube.Quote:

well i'm over here on the edge of the Lgfl (bexley)! internet seems to be ok, never had any major trouble!
We have been "using" the LGFL for about 6 years. The internet access is generally reliable but the portal services (the website and e-mail) are pretty poor.
We have just installed an Exchange Server for staff e-mail cos the LGFL was so difficult and time consuming to use. I don't think anyone here ever used the content.:o
we are connected to LGFL, im agree with secman mail system is pretty slow. we r thinking to impliment exchange server near futuure. i travel 1 hour n 15 mints to get to work, im ma point of view zone 1-5 cost me £170/monts. Its too expensive init?
I'm in London connected to the LGfL - Internet has been better recently, was pretty poor before xmas and we've just gone for an upgrade to 100Mb! Anybody else on 100Mb with Synetrix?
The new LondonMail service is well worth a look - we are rolling it out to pupils in the next couple of weeks!
Personally I would not bother setting up an exchange server as the LGFL has just given you that service for free (and you don't have to mange mailboxes or keep backups)
Also 100Mb does get you a faster downloads but it is no quicker browsing the web as hits a bottle neck when it comes to the core infrastructure. I would check if you are hitting the top of your bandwidth first before upgrading
