Gmail on iPhone - Anyone know which ports need to be opened for LGFL2??

    Hey guys,
Trying to get gmail to work on the iPhone's mail app within a school network under LGFL2. It keeps on coming up with "the mail server "imap.gmail.com" is not responding... I emailed Atomwide, who told me to find out which ports need opening. I have had a quick look on google, but could not find any info. Has anyone been able to do it for their school?

    Thanks in advance....

    Nick

Proxy settings need updating / adjusting on the wireless connection ( settings --> wireless --> Press on the blue arrow in relation to the wireless connection that you are using or connect to ) --> scroll to the bottom and you should be able to input / adjust the proxy settings ?

You using the student proxy settings / staff or what exactly ?

If it helps you can use the official GMail app from Google, works perfectly for us as I presume it must use https ... also they have redesigned it and much better than how it was before, also now supports multiple accounts! )

If you go into the mail settings I think in the advanced options you can tweak which ports the mail app uses for SMTP / POP etc ?

Jump up and down to Atomwide - they do have the ability and the pre-set firewall rules to open IMAP/SMTP/POP access to all "well-known" email services.
