Thanks Dave, nice and depressing for the run up to Christmas! lol

That's an awesome site too for checking where is the cheapest fuel. They can email you a daily/weekly update if you like. It's surprising how many times Shell is cheaper than Sainsbury or Tesco, i've joined their loyalty club now even though it's not as good as nectar, as it's the overall price i'm interested in, loyalty points are just a bonus.
I go to either shell or tesco as I have clubcards with both. If I have to buy fuel then I want to get some bonus out of it somewhere!
It's ridiculous that Tesco charge more than Shell round here for what has always seemed to be inferior quality fuel!
Smart Price fuel!!!
What annoys me is the big regional variations - its around 1.20 here (Northampton) at the moment - but I was down Yarmouth/Harwich way a few weeks ago and it was 1.12 in Asda - thats a big difference on 60l
they reckon that the the price of a litre of unleaded will go above it's May 2010 peak in early 2011. That would be an average of 1.25 or thereabouts, up from 1.19.
though not sure what effect that will have, if any, on the annual change in inflation....given that peak price earlier this year. inflation doesn't seem to need any help in staying above 4% for much of next year anyway
