I think they aquired it when they bought the makers of the KACE appliances.

In other news SonicWall have also been bought by them today!

That's correct. KACE bought AppDeploy.com then Dell bought KACE. We've been working on ITNinja for the last year, building a team, designing and developing the site and painstakingly migrating all the AppDeploy content into a huge tagging taxonomy representing all known IT software (well, close anyway). We are intent on staying a brand-independent site, though owned by Dell. I received an E-Mail this evening Re: AppDeploy [V 2.7] AKA ITNinja:

Version 2 of AppDeploy (aka ITNinja) is clearly much more than a name change; it was a complete rewrite. ITNinja was a year in the making and beta feedback was sparse so getting itout the door and in front of a live audience was necessary to get your much-needed feedback. We’ve been hard at work taking all the good things about AppDeploy and ensuring they are a clear improvements on ITNinja. If you have not been watching, here’s a quick sampling of we’ve been up to these last few months:

• We introduced a powerful mechanism for browsing the Software Library, which is home to all the AppDeploy Deployment tips. You can browse alphabetically and filter this list of over 50,000 software titles by keyword, those that have tips, and those that have tagged content. • To help with navigation of our Q&A system, we increased the visibility of several topic tags so you can more easily browse discussions by these topics while still leveraging our powerful tagging system. Check out our Q&A system at http://www.itninja.com/question
• Today we still offer the same Google Custom Search Engine that was featured at AppDeploy. However, feedback (and we agree) has highlighted that search results are not as valuable as we would all like to see. To that end, you’ll be happy to hear that we are making great progress toward replacing this search system with our own custom search feature. Soon you’ll enjoy a better-looking, more configurable search experience.

I’m also happy to report that because of the increase in the activity and the frequency of visits that the site receives, new deployment tips have increased to levels higher than ever before, meaning more valuable tips tricks, information and more colleagues to help you with your job.

These are just some of the updates we’ve introduced and what we’ve provided thus far is just the beginning of what we’ll be introducing at ITNinja. We have a huge and growing list of updates and enhancements planned. Please continue to check back regularly as ITNinja continually evolves based on your feedback and participation. Remember: you can sign in with your old AppDeploy credentials and carry forward reputation points from past contributions!
