    For Your Artists/Art Tutors

Link 1: Art Project, powered by Google

Explore museums from around the world, discover and view hundreds of artworks at incredible zoom levels, and even create and share your own collection of masterpieces.
Link 2: Art Project, powered by Google [FAQ]

Pictures are well rendered and not too slow to display fully.

Added to The Google Art Project Website:

Link: The White House - Google Art Project

A virtual tour of The Whitehouse and the art housed there: 139 artworks by 96 artists.

Not working in Internet Explorer here: IE error message:

Sorry, the Google Art Project uses technology that your browser doesn't understand.

Install Chrome Frame for Internet Explorer to improve your experience of using the web. Itís simple and only needs to be done once.

    Update:

...Today Google has added 20 more museums, 1,500 new high-resolution artworks and 16 Gigapixel images to the project...
Now, apparently, working in IE [10]

What I find interesting is that of the 157 works for the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, only 8 are hanging on the walls. I know the gallery has a huge collection that never sees the light of day. You can arrange to view a work, but selecting a painting from a list is very hit a miss. It looks to be the same for the Art Gallery of South Australia too, so I assume it to be the case for all galleries. It's nice that they are going into the archives.
