Downloading of YouTube videos for student assemblies

I know of some copyright issues of downloading and re-hosting YouTube videos. But in the UK, is it legal for a school to download any YouTube video for inclusion into a PowerPoint presentation to play at an assembly instead of streaming it?

Yes, since its public domain, there shouldn’t be any problem.

Last time I read them it was against the youtube t&c's to use any method not provided by youtube themselves to view/download their content so unless that's changed you can't do it.
