Windows XP VLK Licensing Question (Imaging)

    Evening All!

Ive got a question that ive been pondering for a good while now,

I have an XP VLK that is used on 85 computers (had 2000 on them but was upgraded to XP)...

Can I use that key to image the whole of my school pc's (500 of them), Technically we have brought XP licenses when we brought the HP machines that come with XP...

Im just curious as to whether im allowed to do that, it would be easier than typing in the OEM key on each machine from its sticker..Sorry if im being stupid

Your VLK Key how many clients is that for? if you have brought the VLK for 500 computers then it should not be an issue. I'm not sure myself to be honest if it would make any different RE: Using that key on OEM versions of Windows XP.

I know it don't answer your question properly but...

It is how we do ours, build one image with the VLK key and image out.

How I read that document is that yes you can provided you are using the same vlk version as the oem or vice versa i.e You can use XP SP3 VLK and media to install onto a pc bought with an XP SP3 OEM copy installed.
