Windows 7 KMS/MAK Licensing in a LAB
Hello all,
I am working on the test Windows 7 images for a student lab and have a question on KMS/MAK Licensing for a LAB environment;
1. if I use the KMS server for Licensing, after machine gets imaged does it take a license count after the machine talks to the KMS server?
2. if I use the MAK license key, does it count depreciates after the re-image?
regards,
Francisco

1 - Yes, but make sure you have different names on your PCs before hand!
2 - not too sure but general consensus among network admin friends of mine seems to say yes.

thanks nephilim!!!
Just to Clarify...
The machines are going to have same name IE "Lab1Machine1" "Lab1Machine2" and they get re-imaged as professors asked to have software installed or machine needs to be refreshed. How could I control the kms /maks licenses as machine going to get reimaged...

5th November 2009, 09:47 AM #4 for KMS keys, you would need a KMS server set up, which for Windows 7 requires Server 2008. MAK keys I am not sure.
