    Deactivating MAK keys

    Hi all

We have a 2 class room set if PCs that we will be retrofitting with new motherboards.

These old PCs were MDTed and activated using VAMT

Question is how does one deactivate the licence on the old motherboards so our licence count is correct?

    Many thanks

You can't, you will have to request a new MAK when you run out, or move to KMS activation.

    Thanks DMcCoy

Will plan to move KMS in the future.

In short term i will probably ring or contact MS to get a extra set of MAK keys

Just to add if you are getting new motherboards and you have OEM stickers on the cases you will need to purchase a new OEM license. An OEM license is attached to the motherboard and can only be transferred to another if the original is faulty.
