I have been given the mock practical for the EWAN part of the CCNA (just need to do the mock and the actual practical) but I am having a hard time of it...to start with Packet tracer has decided it does not like my laptop or work PC, so I am trying at home now, but I just cant get my head round it for some reason.
I know its logical but I just cant grasp it and its starting to frustrate me so as I have posted it up, can someone else give it a crack so I can have a look and see where I am going wrong?
I officially give up for the night, if anyone can do it and let me see the packet tracer file, I would be forever in your debt!
After a good night sleep, and fresh perspective, I STILL can't do this. All help is much appreciative.
Chase your dreams brother.
Which bit are you getting stuck with?
I did it now thanks. I could not get the PCs to talk to each other, so I eventually thought about opening up the NAT protocols which did the trick.
always remember (and this is what I tell students) Packet Tracer is not hardware it's all software so you cannot possibly get the same experience of using real kit, also alot of commands that are in IOS arn't in PT, i'm not having a go or owt I just want you to pass your exams, try not to do extensive things with PT as in my own experiences it's only good for basic things especially when it comes to VLan's.
If you really do get stuck and PT is not working try GNS and get hold of some IOS's that works alot better, or the best way in my opinion start with a small Lab.
My Lab consists of:
Cisco 3500 Series XL Switch (48 Port)
Cisco 2950 Series (24 Port)
Cisco 2620XM Router (x2)
and a Server
This Lab does me for most things, and cost me less than £100 off of eBay.
Best of luck with your studies, I wish you a very merry yuletide.
