LNM console dead after SharePoint installation
I installed SharePoint services (SP2 version) on my test LNM server. The LNM Console now appears to have died. It just reports a 404 (file not found) error.
I could certainly trash the server and start again (very easy thanks to LNM setup), but that's not the point is it?
Or is it?
I just don't know anymore
Obviously not mega urgent but if anyone has any ideas...
Could it be a security thing that SharePoint has installed?
Re: LNM console dead after SharePoint installation
I think I've been stupid and effectively installed the default SharePoint site over the top of the LNM console site (on port 80). I'm going to try un-installing SharePoint.
Re: LNM console dead after SharePoint installation
Yeah, Sharepoint nukes any other sites on the IIS webserver. I had it kill WSUS only a few weeks ago. :)
Re: LNM console dead after SharePoint installation
Yep, uninstalling SharePoint appears to have sorted it.
Does this mean it's impossible to use SharePoint on a server with any other web sites on it? Or do they just have to run on different ports?
Re: LNM console dead after SharePoint installation
You have to deactivate them manually then reenable them after sharepoints done its thing.
You need to remove front page extensions though, so that might kill some things.
Re: LNM console dead after SharePoint installation
I just did EXACTLY the same thing - Installed Sharepoint on my testing LNM server.
I feel a lot less stupid now (knowing someone else did it too)!!!
