Would it not be C:\Documents and Settings\Default User and also all the profiles that have been created already.

I logged into the workstations - checked the All Users profile, there are no icons on the desktop in that folder. Then checked the Default User profile and there it was the Kudos icon. inserted the follwoing into the logon script: "C:\documents and settings\%user%\Default User\desktop\kudos.lnk"/f
But still did not delete the Kudos icon. I wonder whether I have to put the %user% in the link or not, can someone help me, the resaon I got %user% there is to delete the Kudos icon for whoever logs into the machines. please help

Students logging on shouldn't have permission to delete shortcuts from the Default User profile so nuking it from their log on script wouldn't work, even if you had the path right -

    C:\documents and settings\%user%\Default User\desktop\kudos.lnk" is wrong - you'd either want

C:\documents and settings\Default User\desktop\kudos.lnk" as a path to the file if they did have permission to delete it, or

C:\documents and settings\%username%\desktop\kudos.lnk" if you want to nuke it out of the existing profile folders as they logon - which should work as they're deleting a file from an area they do have permissions on. Default User is only used when a profile is set up/user logs on and pulls the network cable.
