Sysprep and Window XP activation...

Ok, what have i done now....

I have just syspreped a machine and made an image but it wants me to activate it....i'm using a windows key that i always use but it hasnt worked this time.

This hasnt happened before, what have i done wrong......

You haven't done anything wrong. If you're imaging an OEM version of Windows instead of a Volume version you will be prompted to activate Windows.

Just phone the free number and bing your done.. bit annoying if you have say 100 workstations to do!

hmph...im convinced i've used the same CD and not had this issue....back to the drawing board...

As above. Make sure it is volume license.

You can sysprep using an oem install there is a page on Microsoft which gives you the windows key to use.
