Just had my line manager (of all bloomin people!!) in the junior suite. The kids were trying to copy pictures from IE7 and paste them into Paint. Some kids could and the majority couldnt (this is what ive been told) i've just given it a go on a machine up here and i couldnt paste into paint myself. The kids couldnt right click the picture (should that be the case) so they were going edit> select all, edit> copy. Attempting to paste into paint but the paste option wasnt available, but they could quite happily paste into word....

17th September 2009, 11:27 AM #2 It sounds like they were copying the link to the picture, rather than the actual picture. In word it'd appear as an embedded picture but most likely be a link.
This is just a guess though.
I'm curious why they couldn't right-click, were the images on the page protected for copyright?

17th September 2009, 11:30 AM #3 good question. I havent tested this for myself yet as a student, because i can as a staff member. There was no message to say why they couldnt.

17th September 2009, 11:37 AM #4 Both the schools I work in have right-click disabled - apparently it is due to the fact that in some programs you can do stuff with right-click that shouldn't be done!
As for the pasting into paint - were they trying the same picture? I have just looked on our system and whilst logged on as a student, some pics would paste and some wouldn't - a function of the pic I suspect
