After resolving the RIS problem (full reinstallation) - I am having difficulty getting the Ghost facility to work. Images bomb out before fully uploading (although the screen says they are completed) and good images from other servers don't install properly.
Any ideas? Cheers.
Which version of ghost32.exe have you got?
Are the images correctly stored in the images folder on the LNM server?
Are the images correctly reported in the LNM workstation profiles manager?
If your ghost transfer times out prematurely check you have the latest NIC drivers on the LNM server and check the Servers NIC throughput with an snmp tool to make sure it's not an infrastructure issue.
I did an entire classroom with the LNM/Ghost tools - first 10 went fine all at the same time without any problems, when I started the next batch nothing, all sorts of timeouts and errors.
Eventually I pulled the Netgear L3 managed switch and put in an old unmanaged 10/100, the remaining 20 all went at the same time without issues and reimaged in double quick time.
I doubt if your problems are related to LNM or ghost, check your hardware.
Everything is in the default folders ghost32.exe is ver 8.0.0.984. I am using an old HP unmanaged 10/100 switch to do the experimenting on. I have managed to do a restore with a virtual pc on the server - using a solid image from another server. However I still can't get it to clone properly (finishes early) using a virtual machine either...
